The South Asia Archive and Library Group (SAALG) have informed us that the next SAALG Conference will take place at the University of Cambridge Library on Friday 21st February, 2014.

The day will include the following talks:

Rosie Llewellyn-Jones (Royal Society for Asian Affairs) ‘A new archive resource – The Michael Stokes Postcard Collection of British India.

Prof. Sukanta Chaudhuri (Visiting Fellow University of Oxford) ‘Many Tagores: Travels through a Variorum Website’.

Hari Jonkers (Salvation Army Library and Archives) “Saving the East” The Salvation Army “at war” in South Asia, 1882-2013′.

there will also have a chance to view some 19th-century Burmese maps in the Library’s map room and a chance to visit the new premises of the Centre of South Asian Studies. As usual the day will also include lunch and the SAALG Business Meeting.
